
Fall Engineering Intern (Full-Time, 3 Month)
Job Summary:
Join a fast-paced and innovative medical device manufacturing company as an engineering intern supporting the Research & Development (R&D) team. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the R&D team by developing and documenting SOPs, work instructions, and toolkits across various production workflows
- Observe technicians to gather process data, identify key procedural steps, and translate findings into clear documentation
- Participate in workflow mapping, time studies, and process improvement analysis
- Maintain SOP tracking spreadsheets and ensure documentation aligns with current lab practices
- Assist with engineering projects aimed at optimizing production efficiency, quality, and scalability
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality assurance to implement new procedures
- Assist in training and onboarding support for new interns and tech staff on R&D workflows
- Contribute to project-based assignments and product development initiatives using 3D printing and digital design tools
- Coordinate updates to internal documentation and help communicate findings across teams
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the R&D or operations leadership

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong academic foundation in process design, product development, and manufacturing systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other design software a plus
- Ability to observe, learn quickly, and contribute to a team-driven environment
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
