Electrical and Automation Engineer
Performs engineering duties related to electrical and automation design on small to medium projects of moderate complexity. Involved from the beginning of the project through startup and installation, in a manner which results in obtaining the desired quality by the required delivery date within project budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Functional:
- Design electrical and control systems based on sales quotations and customer specifications.
- Coordinate and schedule assigned projects with all internal departments of company.
- Assists in identifying out of scope change and additions.
- Communicate the project specifications and deadlines with external parties (suppliers, assemblers, installation contractors, engineering firms, and freight forwarders).
- Communicate directly with customer to coordinate design or delivery.
- Creates and/or revise drawings and documentation of electrical, automation and process disciplines.
- Write PLC Code according project specifications and internal standards.
- Develop HMI and SCADA solutions utilizing various software packages such as Rockwell or Wonderware.
- Document the Sequence of Operations.
- Create bills of material.
- Participates in quality control for conformance to design, equipment and software specifications, and operational and safety standards.
- Executes onsite commissioning and customer training.
- Maintain project costs within the project budget.
- Diagnoses equipment, software, or materials for root cause analysis of problems or defects.
- Evaluates alternative solutions. In conjunction with customer and Nol-Tec Systems staff, selects and implements solutions beneficial to both customer and Nol-Tec Systems.
- Participates in continual quality improvement of department work activities.
- Complies with company safety regulations.
- Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

Job Requirements:
Education
- Engineering degree from ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years training in engineering technology or other technical degree
Experience
- 3+ years in these related areas:
- Experience in the application of electrical control and automation systems.
- Experience in the application of electrical design and drafting techniques.
- Hands on programming knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of electrical and automation design concepts.
- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI programming software.
- Working knowledge of digital and analog instrumentation.
- Basic knowledge of electrical motors and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with the NEC code.
- Knowledgeable of technical drawing development and practices.
- Basic knowledge of material handling processes as related to Nol-Tec Systems.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic devices and circuitry.

Travel
This position requires travel both domestically and foreign typically 25% of the time. Some cases may require more travel based on assignment.

Work Environment
Work may be performed in a standard office setting or customer manufacturing site. Air quality and noise levels in the office setting are within normal limits. Air quality and noise may occasionally be above normal limits at customer manufacturing sites. Eye, hearing, and safety protection is required at manufacturing sites. Exposure to excessive noise, dust, humidity, and fumes may occur during equipment testing at customer sites. May be required to work more hours than normally expected during a regular work week depending on workload and deadline requirements.
