Process Engineering Intern - Mixing
The Process Engineering intern will support variation reduction efforts related to the EPDM mixing and extrusion process. They will classify various rubber samples by lab-scale extrusion quality, gather processing data on production-scale extrusion, and develop a rubric that represents a correlation between these processes. The Process Engineer will also design an EPDM formulation trial and conduct grading using this rubric. The intern will spend time in EPDM mixing and extrusion operations, as well as at the Research & Innovation Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interact with Plant 4 Process Engineering and R&D Process Engineering to develop a lab-scale Extrusion quality rubric
- Design and manage a lab formulation study
- Author a Standard Operating Procedure for extrusion evaluation
- Prepare a report and presentation on predicted extrusion behavior of the formulation study
- Attend Daily Plant 4 Tier Meetings
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics, or Polymer Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Must have completed at least 60 credit hours toward the degree program (typically junior or senior standing)
- The internship is expected to begin in Summer 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start date based on candidate availability and eligibility

The position will be located in Carlisle, PA and reports to the plant Process Engineer
