Process Engineer

Job Overview: 
The Process Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and improving our manufacturing processes with a focus on mechanical systems and equipment performance. This role plays a key part in driving production efficiency, process reliability, and product quality across multiple wood-based product lines. The Process Engineer is a highly analytical and resourceful problem solver who collaborates effectively across departments to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate and implement process improvements to production, quality and efficiency across multiple product lines (pellets, bricks, etc.).
  • Monitor production data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with maintenance and production teams to maximize efficiency through equipment setup and calibration.
  • Support capital projects related to equipment upgrades, process optimization, and new product introductions.
  • Develop process documentation, SOPs, and training materials for operators.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all process changes comply with environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team to scale new products and improve existing ones.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures while on the production floor or operating equipment.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, data analysis, problem solving and innovation.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement tools, CAD software and process simulation software, preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills. 
  • Adaptability to a high production atmosphere and “can-do” attitude.

 

 

Work Environment: 

·  Exposure to dust and varying temperatures. 

·  Requires standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. 

·  Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
