Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Program: 12-week paid training + 1-year on-the-job learning
Goal: Transition to Mechatronics & Robotics Technician
About the Role:
- Learn to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, computer, and control systems in a complex fulfillment center
- Participate in classroom, lab, and hands-on training
- Adhere to strict health and safety standards
Training Details:
- 12-week program at one of four colleges (IN, PA, GA, TX)
- Travel, lodging, and related expenses covered
- Followed by one year of on-site learning at your home location
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on material handling equipment
- Analyze technical specifications of mechatronic systems
- Support PLC learning and work with automation engineers
- Communicate effectively within team environments
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Age 18+
- Pass Mechanical Aptitude Test
- Ability to travel and work flexible shifts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Preferred:
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or controls fields
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, kneel, squat
- Walk 6–12 miles per day in a warehouse environment
- Wear PPE (hard hat, face mask, composite toe shoes)
