Albaugh, LLC in St. Joseph, Missouri, is looking for college students ready to explore a career in chemical engineering to join our family for the summer of 2026. Our paid internship program will provide you with a hands-on opportunity to work in a manufacturing industry. You will be introduced to our company culture and work practices and learn how our departments function.
Position Overview
This full-time internship in the Summer of 2026 offers the opportunity to help support engineering projects by assisting with process analysis, data collection, and documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world chemical engineering applications while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills in a safe, team-oriented environment.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with the design, analysis, and optimization of chemical and manufacturing processes
- Collect, analyze, and interpret process and experimental data
- Support process improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives
- Monitor process performance and help identify operational issues
- Prepare technical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and training sessions
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance
- Follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records
The Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Chemical Engineering (or closely related field)
- Completion of or current enrollment in core chemical engineering coursework (e.g., material and energy balances, thermodynamics)
- Basic understanding of chemical engineering principles and unit operations
- Ability to follow safety protocols, procedures, and engineering standards
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
