Entry Level Process and Process Controls Engineer Intern

Headwaters Solutions LLC seeks an entry level process engineer intern/coop interested in detailed engineering of chemical process plants and their control systems from concept development through shop manufacturing and plant commissioning.  Chemical engineers with an interest in controls systems and process equipment as well as traditional process design are especially encouraged to apply.

Headwaters is the Western Hemisphere's only supplier of new hydrogen and synthesis gas plants up to 10 MMscfd for heavy industrial and clean energy applications. Headwaters is also a leading provider of engineered systems for hydrogen compression, dispensing and transportation.

The successful candidate will conduct design, quality control and commissioning, and test work on synthesis gas generation and purification projects controlled by programmable and discrete controllers integrated into industrial networks, and instrumentation and actuators. A demonstrated interest in clean energy and the environment is desired along with teamwork, a good attitude, and the ability to work independently. Headwaters is a Rockwell reseller, therefore Allen-Bradley controllers and human machine interfaces are the primary work environment along with other selected specialty systems when dictated by performance requirements.   Experience with programming PLC's or microcontrollers is a strong plus, as is any experience in electrical system fabrication, installation or maintenance.

Headwaters is headquartered in the Finger Lakes region of New York State with offices and manufacturing plant in Ithaca, NY. We conduct projects throughout the Western Hemisphere. We will consider candidates who are interested in co-op/intern work during their academic training leading to full time hire. Our preference is for candidates with a major in chemical engineering who are interested in eventually achieving engineering licensure.
