Associate Field Engineer
Position
The Associate Field Engineer will learn through hands on work and mentorship the skills needed to implement cutting edge networks that connect the largest data centers together throughout the US. The employee will travel to various locations across the US, under the direction of a Sr. Field Engineer as they install new networks that are the back bone of the US's "Cloud Computing" network.
Location
New Field Engineers will report out of the Dallas, TX office.
Team Work Environment
Field Engineers are part of a close knit team that learns optical networking together and deploy jointly across the US. LightRiver seek engineers from all disciplines as we are able to provide very in-depth training on optical networking.
Travel:
Candidates must be excited by the concept of traveling at least 50% of the time for the first three years of their engineering careers. After which, there are immediate opportunities for promotions to Project Management, Sales Engineering, or Field Engineering Management.
Essential Functions
A LightRiver Field Engineers as the opportunity to advance their knowledge in the three engineering disciplines:
- Network Factory Services :
- Learn network equipment installation standards & best practices
- Support customer visits and factory acceptance testing
- Field Services:
- Support site survey & Fiber Optic cable testing
- Provide equipment installation, integration, and troubleshooting
- Engineering Documentation:
- Create Engineering Design Packages
- Generate signal flow diagrams
