Sales Engineering Intern
Location:  New York, NY
Job Description:
The sales engineering internship is intended to demonstrate to potential future full time hires the career path and opportunities of Sales Engineers at HIGHMARK as well as provide basic training applicable to the role. The Sales Engineer is accountable for the technical sales of custom-engineered HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings around the world, with a focus on New York City. Responsibilities include preparing customer presentations, design assistance/consulting and preparation of sales proposals. Sales engineers are required to communicate on a consistent basis with engineers, building owners, architects and contractors, and to coordinate solutions with our numerous global manufacturing partners.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and design consulting to engineers, architects, building owners and contractors
  • Present HIGHMARK’s capabilities to customers and prospects
  • Develop and present technical designs for customer solutions
  • Develop proposals and responses to bid requests
  • Work with management to help drive appropriate product and system enhancements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 0-5 years of work experience in construction or engineering
  • Proficient with common office applications, including MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Ability to perform needs assessments, and to make recommendations based on the discovered needs
  • Ability to create and furnish solutions in a timely manner while ensuring acceptable level of detail, integrity and accountability
  • Ability and willingness to share knowledge and expertise among various organizations
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
