We are currently seeking a Procurement & Value Engineer Intern to join our team in Batesville, IN.
Your Role at Batesville:
As a Procurement & Value Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for managing and leading the timely, effective completion of multi-site projects aimed at lowering costs and/or improving processes and quality. This role will also provide engineering support to the entire Batesville Supply Chain (operations and logistics) team to drive improvements in areas of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

What You’ll Do:

Project Implementation:
- Act as project manager for strategic sourcing, product redesign and process improvement projects.
- Organize, develop, and execute project timelines and deliverables.

Change Management:
- Present and manage product and process change proposals.
- Make recommendations regarding specifications for parts/products.
- Conduct trials and tests to support the approval of products and processes.

Improvement Opportunities:
- Identify opportunities for improvements in products and/or processes.
- Assist with the financial analysis and feasibility studies of proposed changes.

Design and Engineering Principles:
- Understand and execute principles of design and engineering philosophies.
- Read, analyze, and develop part prints.
- Assure system and product quality by executing testing methods.
- Collect and interpret data through research and measurement.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain, or an equivalent field.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and across functional groups.
- Passion for learning and continuous improvement.
- Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Nice to Haves:
- Ability to use 3D CAD software preferred.
