Inside Sales Applications Engineer

Do you have a passion for helping our environment? Do you enjoy being outdoors and meeting people in our community to assist them with their water and wastewater challenges? Are you an Engineer or looking to get your PE license working under a PE in the Water and Wastewater Industry? If so, Global WET is hiring an Applications Engineer residing in South, Central or East Texas who will work under a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer to obtain your Professional Engineering license in Texas.

A good understanding of water and wastewater equipment and applications is desired. The ideal candidate will be able to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Process includes client correspondence, project meetings, project schedules and installation coordination. You will need to be able to deal with client demands and handle last minute changes to existing schedules. You will be the main point of contact for clients and manufacturers after projects are obtained, and are responsible for the completion of projects. The position may also include day-to-day communications and site visits with Engineers, Contractors, Utility Owners, and Equipment Manufacturers. Global WET may also pay for international travel to factories in Germany, Finland, Europe and South America for onsite factory testing. You will work with over 30 mechanical and civil manufacturers and gain knowledge of Organic Chemistry and Chemistry, Hydraulics, and Civil Engineering. The position requires applicants to be self-sufficient, motivated and outgoing. 

 The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering along with previous experience in inside sales and project management experience.

Typical Duties of an Inside Sales Application Engineer may Include:

·     Assist in the design of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and all ancillary process equipment to prepare budget proposals, support design drawings, specifications, bids and startup of projects.

·     Travel to job sites and assist with starting up equipment.

·     Use your knowledge and experience to assist our clients, which include Engineering Firms, Cities and Municipalities, Contractors, and Manufacturers of Equipment.

·     Work closely with Territory Managers to learn different aspects of the business to allow future growth opportunities within the organization.

·     Maintain a database and website access to clients purchasing portals and reviewing for project postings and updates.

·     Coordinate projects from bids through submittals and equipment startups. 

·     Monitor existing sales lead databases for projects, including reviewing specifications and assembling an equipment matrix for projects.

·     Assist with commissioning and startup, and witnessing testing of equipment at factories (overseas travel may be required).

·     Prepare technical lunch-and-learn presentations that may be in person or via teleconference.

·     Host/attend various marketing pursuits and seminars across the assigned territory.

·     Attend various Trade Shows and Events to network within the territory and overseas as needed.

·     Understand and work within project budgets.

·      Act as project coordinator for projects obtained by Global WET.

·      Act as liaison between the vendors and the contractors throughout the purchase, submittal, operation manual review and equipment start-up process.

·      Solicit submittal and operations manual documentation from manufacturers for bid approval and conduct final review on approved submittals.

·      Develop quotes, purchase orders, change orders and invoices as needed for project-related sales.

·      Source project-related product quotes from manufacturers as needed.

·      Handle cancellations or changes in sales orders and communicate changes to appropriate personnel.

·      Review project related purchase orders to ensure customer’s technical needs are met.

·      Provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries.

·      Follow company practices for document management, organization, and version control, and apply file-sharing processes on projects you support.

·      Support communications and content collection with manufacturing partners and contractors.

·      Analyze customers’ requirements and engage in consultative selling with clients; provide value-added services and products to solve customer problems.

·      Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, with a heavy concentration of email correspondence.

·      Work both collaboratively and independently, as appropriate.

·      Use online project management software, to track project progress.

 

A candidate for this position ideally possesses the following skills:

·     BS in Engineering Water Wastewater Highly Preferred

·     EIT Preferred

·      Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills

·      Capable of learning and acquiring new skills

·      Reliable, extremely well organized, and detail oriented

·      Elevated sense of urgency to client requests

·      Ability to follow instructions as needed

·      A positive attitude and a friendly demeanor

·      Self-motivated as this is a remote position

·      Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Microsoft Word

·      Proficient in Quickbooks (desired, but not required)

·      Proficient in Google Drive applications (desired, but not required)

·      Proficient in Monday (desired, but not required)

 

Candidates will need to live in South, Central or East Texas.

Pay: $55,000 to $65,000 depending on experience. Annual Bonuses Possible.
