Plant Engineer

Our current portfolio includes 40 renewable energy assets with a capacity of 2,048 MW, 343 MW of efficient natural gas-fired power, 1,229 miles of electric transmission lines, and other sustainable assets.
We are currently recruiting a Plant Engineer - based in Ridgecrest to work at our Coso Geothermal location, to strengthen our Plant operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to, supports and complies with all company safety and environmental policies and practices. Ensures all employees work safely and within company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Conducts conceptual engineering and design of plant and well field processes and facilities.
- Implements production assurance programs including event response, reliability profile, condition assessment, and plant indicators.
- Performs quarterly monitoring of nine 30MW geothermal power plants. Recommends system enhancements to improve efficiency and plant operating economics.
- Directs production engineering and production system optimization via numeric modeling and functional verification of gathering systems operations.
- Provides engineering support services to all internal departments and external projects as required to achieve overall project excellence.
- Serves on various management and project committees performing plant improvement studies, project review, safety audits, etc., optimizing the return on investment, cost effectiveness, and the safety of all personnel and the environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university in either Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering;
- Certification as a Professional Engineer. A minimum of 2 years experience in the design, analysis, and modeling of fluid processing systems is required.
- A thorough knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow must be demonstrated. Intermediate to advanced computer skills in word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet software is also needed.

- Excellent English language skills (written and speaking) at C1 level is a must.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement.
- Ability to carry out detailed instructions with limited supervision.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to use logical and divergent reasoning to solve problems.
- Ability to work safely and effectively with others.
- Ability to relay legal information to needed parties.
Technical Qualifications:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
