Approximately 6 months
Schedule:
40 hours/week, Monday through Friday
The Energy Data Intern will support energy data collection and energy analysis initiatives. You will develop an understanding of building energy consumption and energy policy. Your day-to-day will be to assist with energy billing data collection, technical data entry, and providing support for Local Law 84/133 and Local Law 97 energy and emissions benchmarking projects. This internship is the ideal opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain valuable hands-on experience in sustainability and energy efficiency.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Communicate with stakeholders for data procurement (e.g., utility bills, client lists, etc.)
- Collect and organize utility bills and data sets (i.e., electricity, gas, oil, and district steam)
- Support benchmarking team on data analysis, quality assurance, and other related tasks for Local Law 84/133 and Local Law 97 reporting projects
- Support senior management projects, including data analysis and management
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Job Requirements:
- Pursuing or recently received a degree in environmental science/studies, or other equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of energy efficiency concepts preferred
- Interest in building energy regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel
