• The campus in North Haven, Connecticut is home to Medtronic’s Robotics, Sutures, Specialty Needles, and Stapling Devices. There are 5 buildings and approximately 2,800 employees engaged in manufacturing and research & development.

EHS Internship 

• Join the Medtronic North Haven Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Team!  The EHS team is focused on ensuring compliance with both regulatory and company requirements.  Depending on the applicant’s degree, experience and interests, the EHS Intern can work with both the environment and health & safety team members.
• The intern will work under the mentorship of EHS specialists and managers.
• Possible tasks/experiences:
  • Safety: Ergonomic assessments, Weekly onboarding training, Evaluate a Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE Assessments, Eyewash/Safety Shower Inspections, and more
  • Environmental: Wastewater sampling, Environmental Inspections, Data analysis, Air Emission tracking, Waste Determinations, Sustainability Initiatives, and more
  • Participation in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• This is an on-site opportunity – the campus is large, and many tasks will require visiting manufacturing areas, labs, and clean rooms.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving skills
