Job Description and Responsibilities

  • The Engineer is an integral member of a project team that includes engineers and financial analysts
  • Write technical reports for power and renewable energy generation assets or related technologies, including economic evaluations
  • Run commercial software for forecasting solar PV system production (SAM, PVSyst)
  • Assist financial analysts with the development of cash flow models for power generation assets
  • Review project contracts, construction drawings, and technical documents
  • Model power plant generation, operating expenses, emissions, and capital costs
  • Perform company, industry, and market analysis
  • Respond to client questions about research
  • Inspect power generating facilities and review operations/maintenance with some travel required to sites/year
  • Prepare written reports and presentation materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in energy, electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, physics or other science
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with common programming languages and methodology (Ex. Python)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability including logical reasoning, creative thinking, and the ability to untangle complex issues
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible individual with the ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities
