Job Description and Responsibilities
- The Engineer is an integral member of a project team that includes engineers and financial analysts
- Write technical reports for power and renewable energy generation assets or related technologies, including economic evaluations
- Run commercial software for forecasting solar PV system production (SAM, PVSyst)
- Assist financial analysts with the development of cash flow models for power generation assets
- Review project contracts, construction drawings, and technical documents
- Model power plant generation, operating expenses, emissions, and capital costs
- Perform company, industry, and market analysis
- Respond to client questions about research
- Inspect power generating facilities and review operations/maintenance with some travel required to sites/year
- Prepare written reports and presentation materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in energy, electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, physics or other science
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with common programming languages and methodology (Ex. Python)
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Exceptional problem-solving ability including logical reasoning, creative thinking, and the ability to untangle complex issues
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible individual with the ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities
