Chemist/Chemical Engineer/Physicist
During internship at Epolin the applicant will learn the following aspects of dye chemistry:
- Synthesis, purification, chemical modification of the different types of dyes and their precursors:
- triarylamine (tris and tetrakis),
- metal chelate dyes including dithiolenes, dithiolates, pyromethanes, porphyrins, and phthalocyanines
- donor-acceptor dyes including squarilium, croconium dyes and merocyanines,
- rylenes,
- polymethine dyes.
- Optical spectroscopy of the dyes in a solution and in a polymer matrix – absorption, fluorescence, and related analysis – full width at half maximum, quantum yield of fluorescence. FTIR
- Thermal analysis of the dyes, dye blends and optical materials (TGA, melting point).
