
Utility Engineer
The position will be under management direction and primarily concentrate on providing engineering and project management support for utility infrastructure and utility capital improvement projects, provide engineering assistance to utility operations staff and perform engineering analysis. Employees in this classification perform at a professional level and are accountable for planning, development, and management of projects in compliance with all applicable City/State/federal codes and regulations according to all acceptable engineering practices. Employee works with a high degree of independence and initiative.
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field is required; possess or ability to obtain Florida Board of Professional Engineer’s (PE) license within 6 months of employment; (2) years responsible technical experience in engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida (or able to obtain PE license within 6 months of start date of employment into position).
Maintenance of Traffic certification to be obtained within one year of employment and certification is to be maintained throughout employment.
